At the same time I was working on topographic project which looked at natures on a grand scale I was surprised at the number of times the scale could easily be reversed. Sometimes biological forms would be suggested and that got me on a looking at things ever smaller. Cells, nuclei, spores, and fragments of the primordial soup from which all life emerged. Surfaces of rocks, lichens various plant forms were a source of inspiration.
